  SPECIAL ENGLISH LESSON A nice topic today at school, during our English class. Our teacher explained to us the origins of this traditional American holiday and more! She showed us several photos of carved pumpkins and people dressed for the occasion and invited us to go around photographing all the decorated houses. How not to welcome this invitation to browse around! This photo I took in the wine department in a shopping center! There is one street here in Boise that has been famous for Halloween decorations since the 1930s, and that's Harrison Boulevard. Of course I went there and took some pictures that I show you in this post. The decorations of many houses are really refined and nice. But first, I would like to remind you a little of the reason for this party, as the teacher explained to us at school. Halloween is an Irish tradition. The word itself, Halloween, comes from the full name All Hallows 'Eve which translated means "Night of all sacred spirits", or A

Una torta un pò inquietante   Halloween : una festa che abbiamo adottato, in fondo fa sempre piacere trovare occasioni per stare insieme e divertirsi. Il divertimento di questa ricorrenza sta nel cercare di essere terrificanti!!!! Infatti per halloween adulti e bambini si divertono travestendosi da mostri , streghe , zombi , demoni o altro ancora. Questa strana  festività è associata a  Jack O'Lantern , un furbissimo fabbro irlandese che riuscì a beffare il diavolo.   ' Dolcetto o scherzetto ' è la frase più usata di questa giornata che, tradotta in inglese, è ' Trick or Treat '. I colori raffiguranti questa particolare festività sono l'arancione e il nero mentre il simbolo è la zucca.
